Dickinson, a member of the Dragon's Den on CBC is an entrepreneur who has helped many companies (including local Balsac's!). She is an excellent source for information on Canada's efforts to negotiate the new economic reality between Canada and the US as she has been involved in high level consultations with the PM. 

James Talarico
A former educator who won a congressional battle for the Democrats in Texas (!), this young man is now running for the Senate and has won admiration for his firm but measured approach to opposing Trump and his articulation of a faith based approach to social justice.

On the Issue of Food specifically 

Green Hart Farms CSA
A CSA is an alternative way of getting fresh meats and produce. The customer pays an up-front fee and then is provided with weekly or bi-weekly deliveries of farm fresh products. It provides revenue certainty for the grower and reasonable prices and high quality for the buyer.

But it has also become about how this conversation sparks other conversations. For some time, we have philosophized about how the 90-minute session is not where real learning takes place. It takes place in the minutes, and the hours, in the days that we live. This conversation, more than most, has sparked observation and discussion in that way. For example, in our discussion, I had remarked strenuously that the " give us this day our daily bread " prayer had seemingly been meaningless to me throughout my life. I have always had food. An Introduction: An Invitation to Our First Conversation

  Eden is Burning* is an invitation to a conversation. The phrase "Eden is Burning" is taken from a lyric by Bob Dylan from Changing of the Guards : "Gentlemen, he said,  I don’t need your organization, I’ve shined your shoes I’ve moved your mountains and marked your cards But Eden is burning ; either brace yourself for elimination Or else your hearts must have the courage for the changing of the guards." The painting from the poster ,  The Garden of Eden, is by Nigerian born  Jimo Akolo . The Garden of Eden was peaceful, but later became guarded by a flaming sword. Relationships were severed, and the land was cut off. In our first conversation, we included a film 'meditation' on Beethoven's Nine , specifically the personal story of grief and loss resulting from war between Hamas and Israel.   The Ceiling of Westminster Abbey, Mission BC, June 2024 In recent years I have come to value the ancient Christian conception of God as three and God as one as a helpful focus for reflection. Much has been written to try to explain what the trinity is and how the trinity works. No description is adequate to apprehend the mystery in full, but the better ones give us glimpses of God’s life. The image of trinity as dance is one that I find fruitful. The Divine is a three member, life-giving dance. In this dance, each member continually gives itself away to the others and receives in itself the life of the others. It is this giving and receiving that forms the bond of oneness without losing the reality of threeness. Picture the model of an atom science has given us, with protons and neutrons in the nucleus and electrons zipping around them.
